About the Book
EXPLORES THE FASCINATING WORLD OF HINDU GODS AND GODDESSES.
In a culture where the divine appears in countless forms-from cosmic dancers and fierce warriors to sacred trees and healing goddesses-Hindu Gods and Goddesses: An Introduction by Sunanda Verma offers a compelling doorway into the vibrant world of Hindu mythology. Rooted in Vedic and Puranic traditions, the book goes far beyond retellings of well- known stories. It also unpacks the symbols, metaphors and meanings behind the deities, explaining their powers, attributes and roles in a dynamic cosmic order. You'll meet gods who ride animals, goddesses who embody energy, and divine forms that transcend gender, time and even logic. Written with clarity and insight, this is not just a guide to who's who in the Hindu pantheon, but a journey into how and why they continue to matter. Whether you're a seeker, a scholar or simply curious, this book connects ancient wisdom to modern life, showing how the many paths of Hinduism ultimately lead to one truth: that the divine lives in all of us. Beautifully detailed, stunningly illustrated and delightfully curious, this is your passport to 330 million ways of seeing the divine-and finding a few of your own.
